Diploma in Islamic Banking and Finance is designed to introduce students to the Islamic banking and financial system and how the present institution can be progressively transformed. The students will be exposed with the operational aspects of Islamic banking institutions and how it can fulfill the financing requirements of the customer. The concept and application of products such as Murabahah, Musyarakah, Mudharabah, Salam, Istis’na, Sukuk as well as Takaful and the marketing of the new products and services are adequately covered. In addition to the programme, the students will also be taught in business and finance subject from the Islamic perspective among others to enhance their competencies in soft skills. As the programme emphasizes self-initiated learning and hands-on competencies, graduates of this programme will be ready to take the challenges and competitions in the Islamic banking world.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. Possesses a SPM with at least THREE credits and a pass in Mathematics or its equivalent
        OR
  2. A pass in STPM / STAM or its equivalent
        OR
  3. A pass in Skill Certificate at Level 3 SKM in related fields and possesses a SPM with a minimum of ONE credit
        OR
  4. A recognised Certificate (Level 3,MQF) or equivalent in MIF or related fields
        OR
  5. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government
        AND
  6. A pass in Arabic Language (for Muamalat and Halal Management Programme).

* A student has to acquire 92 credit hours to complete this programme.

Graduates will be able to pursue their studies in any available higher education institution either in Malaysia or abroad for Bachelor Degree’s (Islamic Banking, Finance, Takaful, Risk, Investment, etc).
